As we reflect on another remarkable year in the journey of UA, I extend my heartfelt gratitude to every member of our UA Family (our students, parents, teachers, staff, alumni, partners, and well-wishers) members for your continued trust, commitment, and unwavering support.
The year 2026 marks a significant personal milestone for me. After serving as the Principal of Ugyen Academy since its founding in 2002, I formally retired from the position in May of 2026. It has been one of the greatest privileges and blessings of my life to have journeyed alongside generations of students, dedicated colleagues, supportive parents, and most inspiring founder Late Dasho Yab Ugyen Dorji in building this institution.
Today, I have the honour of continuing my association with the school as its Consultant Principal. My role is no longer administrative but institutional, supporting the school's long-term vision, mentoring its leaders, preserving the unique culture, climate and core values of UA, and providing guidance whenever called upon. The daily leadership and management of the school now rest in the capable hands of:
and the entire leadership team which include my teachers and student leaders, who continue to lead Ugyen Academy with dedication, professionalism, and renewed energy.
My precious students, you remain the heart and soul of Ugyen Academy. Continue to pursue excellence with humility, resilience, compassion, and integrity. Remember that success is measured not only by academic achievements but also by the strength of your character and your willingness to serve others; yes, be driven by our motto, “Be Your Best”.
My dynamic teachers and staff, thank you for your tireless commitment to nurturing young minds and shaping responsible citizens. Your dedication continues to sustain the culture of excellence that has defined Ugyen Academy for more than two decades.
My respected parents, my heartfelt gratitude for entrusting us with the education and well-being of your children. Your partnership remains one of the greatest strengths of UA.
My proud alumni and friends of Ugyen Academy, thank you for carrying the values of the UA Family wherever life has taken you. Your accomplishments continue to inspire our present students, and your enduring connection strengthens the legacy we have built together.
I also offer my deepest appreciation to our Proprietor, Dasho Sonam Tobgay Dorji, whose vision, generosity, and unwavering commitment to education and Dharma continue to provide the guiding light for Ugyen Academy. As Bhutan's education landscape continues to evolve and Ugyen Academy embraces new opportunities, I remain confident that our school's greatest strength will always be its people and the enduring values that unite us. Institutions flourish when leadership is shared, when every member takes ownership, and when our common purpose rises above individual roles.
It is also a great honour to have been entrusted by our Proprietor with the responsibility of serving as the President of the Ugyen Academy Silver Jubilee Celebration Committee (UA-SJC). Appointed on 15th June 2026 in the presence of the Executive Committee, comprising members of UA's first graduating batch, I was privileged to launch the much-awaited UA Silver Jubilee Logo. I sincerely thank every member of the UA Family for the tremendous enthusiasm, unity, and commitment already shown in making our Silver Jubilee Celebrations a truly memorable milestone.
Although I now serve in a different capacity, my faith in the UA Family remains as strong as ever. I will continue to support the school whenever I can, while taking great pride in witnessing a new generation of educational leaders guide Ugyen Academy into its next chapter.
May we all continue to live our vision as a school of WILL (Winners, Innovators, Leaders, and Learners) while remaining steadfastly guided by our motto, "Be Your Best."
