New Normal Curriculum for Classes VII & VIII
Prescribed by Royal Education Council (REC) and Ministry of Education (MoE):
Dzongkha, English, Maths, Science, History, Geography and ICT remain compulsory (all students must be equipped with a Smart Phone/Tablet for online lessons), except for International students, the second language Dzongkha is automatically replaced by their respective national language. Students’ Ex-country Study Tours, International Students Ex-change Programs, visit to Mountain Echoes, Drinchen-Phama-a musical concert on Parents’ Eve and Observation of Global Days by our Classes VII, VIII & IX students are a part of our broader learning activities. We also devote special classes for Music and Dance with the help of experts from RAPA, Traditional Art & Crafts, Physical Education, and Computer Applications.

Prescribed by the Bhutan Council for School Examination & Assessment (BCSEA) and REC:
Dzongkha, English, Maths, Science (Bio, Che, Phy), HCG (History, Civics & Geography), ICT remain compulsory, except for International students, the second language Dzongkha is automatically replaced by their respective national language. Optional subjects are:
Environmental Science |
Economics |
Agriculture for food sustainability |
But from 2024 academic session, economics remains the only subject offered where the other two subjects are not offered for classes IX and X.
Besides the above academic subjects the school also conducts classes in career/values education.
Assessment
Students need a minimum of 40% in each subject (both in CFA and Theroy/written) in the average of monthly/midterm and trial exams to qualify for Annual/Board Exams. Promotion to the next grade will also be based on the ward’s SUPW grades (Socially Useful and Productive Work) which will be based on records maintained by the class/subject teachers. The grades will be finalized through a staff meeting. We also provide a comprehensive general report each term (available online).
