Mountain Echoes literary festival

The Mountain Echoes literary festival is an initiative that brings together writers, biographers, historians, environmentalist, scholars,

photographers, poets, musicians, artists, filmmakers to engage in cultural dialogue, share stories, create memories and most importantly

explore the world beyond and take inspiration especially for school children. The festival enjoys the patronage of Her Majesty Ashi Dorji Wangmo Wangchuck.

In its eight edition this year, class VII students along with few senior students were on a roll when they visited the Royal University of Bhutan,

Auditorium on 25th August. The students were lucky enough to get the chance to meet and interact with very prominent figures such as Jerry

Pinto, Neel Madhav, Barkha Dutt,  Ashwin Sanghi, Emma slade  and few other Bhutanese artists.

The sessions that the students attended were full of knowledge, deeper insights into the arts, literature and philosophy. In addition to this, the

students were also made more aware of global issues such as environmental conservation, natural history, spirituality, and the global evolution

of textiles and traditional designs. This festival is one of a kind where students can learn in abundance, draw great inspiration and deeper

democratization in the country.
