Disaster management mock drills conducted in UA

Mock Drill was conducted jointly by teachers and students on 21st September, 2017 to observe the National Disaster Day.

Earthquake Mock Drill was conducted to sensitize on how to keep oneself safe from disaster:

Main Focus on Earthquake Drill was to:

1.    Practice Duck, Cover and Hold.

2.    Evacuate classroom in less than one minute without pushing and falling.

3.    Evacuate school in less than four minutes using different exit.

4.    Look out for friends.

5.    Stay away from weak areas or structures.

6.    Help those who need assistance.


The drill was conducted successfully with the assistance of Mr. Kumar Pradhan (the focal person) and other teachers.

School Principals of Mongar Dzongkhag Visits UA

Educational Exchange Program for the Principals of Mongar Dzongkhag in Ugyen Academy. The visit was basically

aimed at sharing and learning good practices between schools in Mongar Dzongkhag and the selected schools

Mountain Echoes literary festival

The Mountain Echoes literary festival is an initiative that brings together writers, biographers, historians, environmentalist, scholars,

photographers, poets, musicians, artists, filmmakers to engage in cultural dialogue, share stories, create memories and most importantly

explore the world beyond and take inspiration especially for school children. The festival enjoys the patronage of Her Majesty Ashi Dorji Wangmo Wangchuck.

In its eight edition this year, class VII students along with few senior students were on a roll when they visited the Royal University of Bhutan,

Auditorium on 25th August. The students were lucky enough to get the chance to meet and interact with very prominent figures such as Jerry

Pinto, Neel Madhav, Barkha Dutt,  Ashwin Sanghi, Emma slade  and few other Bhutanese artists.

The sessions that the students attended were full of knowledge, deeper insights into the arts, literature and philosophy. In addition to this, the

students were also made more aware of global issues such as environmental conservation, natural history, spirituality, and the global evolution

of textiles and traditional designs. This festival is one of a kind where students can learn in abundance, draw great inspiration and deeper

democratization in the country.

Students Exchange Programme

Students Exchange Programme 2017

A Team of 11 students and 3 teachers from Seth Anandram Jaipuria School, Kanpur, India visited Ugyen Academy

for two days (18th – 19th August 2017) on students exchange programme.

As part of students interaction, various academic and literary activities were conducted in English, Mathematics

and Science in the Multi-Purpose Hall. Ugyen Academy Students of classes VII, VIII & IX took part in the programme.

In continuance of the students exchange programme, a team comprising of students from classes VII & VIII and

teachers of Ugyen Academy will be taking part in 25 different competitions to be held at Seth Anandram Jaipuria

School, Kanpur, India in October 2017.

Dear Parents and Guardians, 

It was John Keats who said, “Nothing ever becomes real till it is experienced.” Therefore, dear students welcome back to experience Term II of 2019 academic session.

UA is known for its vibrant school culture and climate. It is always bubbling with meaningful activities and certainly keeps accomplishing its goals. The Term II of 2019 has begun and once again we are unstoppable and gaining momentum. UA is blessed with outstanding students, caring teachers, active and involved parents and a dynamic school administration team.
